Natural Phenomenon amidst Global Pandemic

 

2020 has been a difficult year and a trying times for everyone. Many suffered this year from the impacts of COVID-19 and other disasters caused by natural phenomenon like earthquakes and strong typhoons.

The world is suffering a global pandemic resulting to economic downturn that leads to financial threat, job fragility, and access to opportunities within nations and adding to that pandemic are the natural disasters that somewhat adding to burden and worries of people. We are in the middle of a pandemic and here comes natural phenomenon like earthquakes, super typhoons etc. that we need to face. Just like the recent super typhoon called typhoon Ulysses that unleashed powerful winds and torrential rain that killed dozens of people, destroyed thousands of homes and left some region flooded. Typhoons are becoming more destructive nowadays because of the global warming that is causing to strong and super typhoons. The effects of global warming and climate change are already bringing harm to human, animals and also to the environment. The only thing we can do is to reduce the amount of atmospheric carbon such as avoiding burning activities like burning plastics, cutting trees and proper segregation of plastic waste, practice the 3R’s-Reuse, Reduce, Recycle and to have a discipline in one’s self. We must know how to prevent and lessen our wrongdoings before it is too late.

Now is the time to work together, across all sectors, in the urgent task of building a better, safe and inhabitable world. We must be always ready of the effects of natural disasters and taking appropriate actions in preventing or minimizing the damage they can cause in the future by taking care of our mother earth. The goal is to reduce our vulnerability to the harmful effects of these. They say, “we must take good care of our mother earth so that she will protect and take care of us too”.
